Faculty history
The Faculty of Art history was founded on the basis of the Department of History and Theory of Fine Arts on the basis of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of January 23, 1997, “On Establishment of the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan”. The faculty is directed on training art scientists in the direction of fine arts, history of applied art. Currently, the faculty has 5 chairs, including 2 specialists, and 3 departments of social and humanitarian sciences. At the faculty, there are about 300 students enrolled in four bachelors and 2 magistracy majors.
At the faculty art critic Sh.S. Gulomova, later the candidate of philological sciences G.A. Qarshieva, the doctor of philological sciences LR. Roupova worked as the dean of the faculty for many years. The faculty consists of 54 full-time and part-time professors and teachers.
