The Department of “Applied Decorative Arts” has been operating as an independent structural unit since February 2023, having separated from the Department of “Art Ceramics and Restoration of Architectural Decorative Elements” of the Kamoliddin Behzod National Institute of Fine Arts and Design.

Currently, the department trains qualified specialists in several educational programs. In particular, at the bachelor’s level, the following programs are offered: “Restoration of Applied Art Works,” “Professional Education: Restoration of Applied Art Works,” “Art Jewelry,” and “Decorative Painting.” In addition, part-time education programs are available, as well as a master’s degree program in “Fine and Applied Decorative Arts.”

The main goal of the department is to train competitive specialists with deep knowledge and practical skills in the field of applied decorative arts, capable of creative thinking and effective professional activity in accordance with modern requirements. At the same time, an important task is to foster in students respect for national artistic traditions, artistic thinking, and an innovative approach.

At present, the department provides training at the bachelor’s level (full-time and part-time) and master’s level. The educational process is organized in accordance with modern standards, and the following subjects are taught: design, work with materials, fundamentals of restoration, fundamentals of color theory and composition, materials science, materials technology, sculpture in the specialty, types of applied arts, art history, types of ceramic decoration, composition in applied arts, conservation theory, documentation in restoration, copying, history of jewelry art, jewelry design, work with materials in jewelry, artistic composition in jewelry, types of ornamentation in jewelry, filigree technique, chasing technique, computer-aided artistic design, composition in decorative painting, compositional solutions in artistic design, contemporary applied decorative arts.
