Today, a meeting was held at the Fine Arts Gallery of Uzbekistan involving the management of our institute and the gallery. As part of the meeting, Gallery Director Kamola Akilova and Institute Rector Omonulla Salixov jointly toured the artworks on display.
Following this, during a gathering attended by faculty members and students, executive management from both institutions signed a Memorandum of Cooperation to establish a branch of the Department of Art History and Theory within the gallery.
Collaborative initiatives commenced immediately on the same day. Specifically, Director of the Fine Arts Gallery of Uzbekistan, Doctor of Art History, Professor Kamola Akilova, delivered a lecture titled "Museums and Galleries of Abu Dhabi: Art, Meaning, and Intercultural Dialogue," which was attended by institute leadership, faculty members, doctoral researchers, and students.
Furthermore, under this agreement, academic lectures on art history and museum studies will henceforth be conducted at the gallery every Wednesday.
This partnership plays a vital role in integrating theoretical knowledge with museum and gallery practice, facilitating practical workshops, seminars, and masterclasses for students, as well as establishing a research topic bank and advisory system for academic studies.
